Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Plaintext when you use the site or run a scan. By ticking the box on the scanner, running a scan, or creating an account, you accept these terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Disclaimer. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

Who can use it

You may use Plaintext if you can form a binding agreement with us and you are not barred from doing so under any applicable law. If you use it for an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms on that organisation's behalf.

Permission to scan

You may only scan a site that you own or that you have clear permission from the owner to test. Scanning a site you are not authorised to test may be against the law, and doing so is your responsibility, not ours. By running a scan you confirm you have that authorisation.

Acceptable use

• Do not use the service to attack, overload, or gain unauthorised access to any site or system.
• Do not try to get around the scan rate limits, the SSRF protections, or any other safeguard.
• Do not resell or rebrand the service as your own without a written agreement with us.
• Do not use the service to break the law or to infringe anyone else's rights.

We may limit how often you can scan, and we may suspend access that appears to break these rules.

Accounts

Sign-in is still being connected. Once it is live, you are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

Plans and payment

Prices and plans shown on the site are not final while the product is in development, and nothing on the site charges you yet. When paid plans go live, the price, billing period, and refund terms in force at the time of purchase will apply, and we will make them clear before you pay.

Availability and changes

The service is provided as is and as available. We may change, pause, limit, or withdraw any part of it, and we may update these terms. If we make a significant change, we will update the date below, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Ownership

You keep ownership of your sites and of the results of your scans. You may share a report you generated. We keep ownership of the Plaintext software, brand, and site. You may not copy or reuse them beyond what these terms allow.

Disclaimer and liability

The service comes with no warranty, and our liability is limited, as set out in the Disclaimer, which forms part of these terms. In short, a scan is a helpful first look and not a guarantee that your app is secure, and you remain responsible for your own application's security.

Ending your use

You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or if we need to for legal or security reasons.

Governing law

The governing law and the venue for resolving any dispute will be specified here once our operating entity is finalised. In the meantime, any dispute is handled in good faith under the law of the operator's principal place of business.
